Invitation from Crimson Wave Swim Camp - Grove City College Grove City, PA
Since taking over the Men’s and Women’s Swim Teams at Grove City we have experienced a great deal of success – our teams have finished in the top 10 at the NCAA Championships, we’ve averaged nearly 20 NCAA qualifiers per year, and had multiple relays finish in the top 5 at the NCAA Championships. Our success has also included multiple conference team titles, individual conference titles, numerous All Americans, NCAA Champions, and an NCAA record.
The reason I am writing to you is to inform you of our camp and to invite your current athletes. You can find a copy of our brochure as well as online registration information at http://www2.gcc.edu/sports/cwsc.htm. Please note, though, that our Elite Camp is restricted to athletes entering 8th grade in the fall of 2011 and older. We also offer a Comprehensive Camp for younger athletes – that camp is currently a day camp only. Additional information for the camps can also be found at http://www2.gcc.edu/sports/M-Swimming1/camp/crimsonwave.htm.
We hope that your team has had a successful season so far and look forward to the possibility of working with your swimmers this coming summer!
David C. Fritz Head Coach, Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Camp Director, Crimson Wave Swim Camp Grove City College
What if you were told that the coach with the most NCAA National Championships, of any sport in any division, had designed a camp program that has proven to elevate swimming performance, while at the same time allowing for a safe and fun learning environment?
We are writing to let you know that Total Performance Swim Camps provides such a program and we are inviting YOUR swimmers for the 2011 camps this June.
Founder of Total Performance Swim Camps (TPSC), Jim Steen, has been the head swim coach at Kenyon College for 35 years. He has lead his teams to an amazing 54 NCAA titles while coaching numerous NCAA Champions, hundreds of All-Americans, and several Olympians. Since 1980, his formula for success and innovative ideas has been incorporated into a camp program that has seen over 10,000 participants from over 40 states and even 5 countries!
The cornerstone of the Total Performance Swim Camps is the dedication to the individual through one of two camp options.
Our Comprehensive Camp curriculum is built around three principles - swimming efficiently, training effectively, and having fun. Our campers receive small-group instruction in a low coach-to-swimmer ratio environment where we place particular focus on stroke technique and effective training in all four competitive strokes. This accommodates both the novice and highly trained swimmer (ages 10 - 18). After all, to achieve Total Performance you can't have just technique or just training.
TPSC also hosts a set of Elite Camps, which are highly technical learning and training programs offering the most race-specific training you will find anywhere. These unique camp experiences also boast a low coach-to-swimmer ratio of 1:7 and introduce swimmers to the most up-to-date and proven methods for maximizing their potential. Camps are designed for sprinters, breaststrokers and IM'ers and bring in leading experts from around the country and are open to all swimmers ages 13-18, but are MOST appropriate for swimmers with AAA times.
Located on three beautiful small-residential college campuses at Kenyon College (OH), Calvin College (MI) and Colgate University (NY), Total Performance will utilize one of the most creative and analytic coaching staffs in the nation to ensure that your athletes will have a tremendous and productive camp experience. Coach Steen is joined by other top collegiate coaches like Dan Gelderloos (Calvin College), Bob Rueppel (Franklin & Marshall College) and Fernando Canales (Former Olympian and Colgate University) who will spearhead Total Performance camps at their respective institutions.
This year's group of Performance Specialists for the Elite Camps include University of Michigan Men's Head Coach Mike Bottom, Hall-of-Famer Nort Thornton, former Olympic silver medalist Dave Wharton, former World Record holder Steve Crocker and many more!
Two swim sessions per day designed to train more effectively
Daily stroke clinics, videotaping, and individual video critique
Daily dry-land training routines
Instruction and classroom discussions with guest clinicians on training physiology, goal setting, nutrition, race strategy, and more
Three tasty all-you-can-eat meals each day
Camp t-shirt and personalized DVD detailing critique of stroke, starts and turns (DVD only for comprehensive stroke camps)
Fun evening activities including movies, scavenger hunt, talent show, and more!
Elite campers can also be tested and trained on the Power Rack
Don't just take our word for it. We hear stories like this all of the time!
“I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the camp that I sent my daughter to. In each of her time trials yesterday she dropped time, in one 50 she dropped nearly 2 seconds. Furthermore she is begging to go back next year. Job well done!
- Angela, Parent of 2010 Camper
